When some people are call center hopping, I'm contented where I am. I still remember that for 2 straight years, I'm still happy taking in calls. I may not be as happy as I was before, but I'm still taking in calls. Gone are the days I want to get promoted. Haha.. Promotion means more pay but more responsibility. I can't handle any more responsibility as it is.
It's not that I don't want more responsibility, but times have changed. CVG is not the same as before. They've been more stricter. Understandable as times have changed too. If we were the no.1 center before, wheels have turned, and we're not right now.
Anyway, for the past couple of months, I've been looking for online jobs. Since well, I'm online most of the time and I soooo love the internet. I've been hunting down jobs that could make me stay home and earn a living.
I first discovered oDesk. It's a cool website. I got a buyer though he was not oDesk verified then when he hired me. Anyway, it was quite an easy job and I want to think that he likes my work so far. But then, my keyboard got busted and I wasn't able to do stuff from him for some weeks. I got a temporary solution to use an external keyboard to do some job for him.
And then I stumbled upon Staff in Seconds. It's not a freelance job like in oDesk. It's a company that would hire you for your services. They'll be the one providing you projects. For me, it's better than oDesk because they would be giving you ample training. Times are hard.. and honestly it's really hard to land a job more so even just an interview in oDesk.
Luckily, I'm part of the first batch of our campaign. I'm not part of the pioneer batch but first batch.. Labo!
Anyway, we had our first teambuilding (the first ever for the company) last Sunday, April 26,2009. I grabbed the opportunity since it's the time to get to know my colleagues because honestly, it's all virtual. Everything is on the internet. We don't see each other physically but we use Skype to communicate. No webcam just voice. We do conference calls and it's really refreshing whenever we do our jobs and making chicka on the side while doing it. hahaha...
I'm adjusting myself to this job and I really hope it turns out fine. We have a 30-day evaluation period and 90 days before we get regularized... which means higher pay.
I'm really thinking long and hard about this endeavor. I so want to be able to handle my time, stay at home but earning as well. I'm giving myself a maximum of 10 months to stay in my current job before I retire. (naks! retire!)
But before I do, I would need to be able to save up for these things: (hehe... luho ko!)
- a brand new Macbook (hey, I would need it for my job!)
- the kitchen shelf
- the topcase keyboard for my old macbook
- ram and hd for my old macbook
- new cabinet for kuya and me
if ever things go well with me & marts... I would also need to save up for:
- a ref
- new mattress
Mygahd! Ang dami pala!
But well, that's just me. haha...
My target date for the new macbook will be by December of 2009. naks.. kaya yan.. LOL..
Also, I also want to be able to invest in a condo. I'm eyeing one condo that can be availed through pag-ibig in the Mandaluyong area. Hopefully I can do site visiting soon.
Anyway, if I do retire... I would want to work homebased and also go back to online selling. I'll be getting stuff from the US care of my parents.
In other words...

Oops looks like i accidentally deleted my previous comment. Anyway thanks for the prompt reply. I'm actually looking to hire a VA sometime soon. I'm just contemplating it for now, but it's good to know the figure I'll be looking at.
How many hours a week are you looking to work for as a VA? And what are your areas of expertise? :)
