How to Sign up for Paypal

Paypal is one of the best and most secure methods of payment on the internet. Shopping online has never been this fast, easy, reliable and most importantly, secure. Most people are afraid of shelling out their hard earned cash on the net but have no fear, Paypal is here!

Signing up is really easy!

1. Go to paypal.com.

2. Click on the sign up link.

3. A ‘Create your Paypal Account page’ would open up. Simply choose your country or region and choose your language to personalize your Paypal experience.

4. To personalize your Paypal experience, you’re given 3 options to choose from. All would depend on how you want to use your Paypal account. If you’re still unsure of what you want to do with Paypal, it’s always nice to choose the basic type which is for Personal use.

There are 3 different types of Paypal accounts to choose from: personal, premier or business.
Personal - for individual who shop online
Premier- for individuals who buy and sell online
Business - for merchants who use a company or group name

5. After choosing what type of Paypal account you want, the next page would ask you to fill up important Account Information. You need to input your email address (this would be used as your Paypal username), password (must be at least 8 characters), name, address and phone number.

6. Read the User Agreement and Privacy Policy. If you’re 100% sure about what you’re doing ‘Click Agree and Create Account’.

7. Once your account has been created, you now need to consider on how you want to fund your purchases. There are 2 ways of paying through Paypal: bank account or credit card.
The bank account option would link your checking or savings account with your Paypal account. You can add several bank accounts in the future but for starters, you can add one account to have your Paypal account verified.
The credit card option is always the faster way of funding your Paypal account. You can set up your account quickly and efficiently without having to expose your credit card information to merchants.

8. After having your account verified, you're now ready to use Paypal.

Happy online shopping!

Random Thoughts

I've been working as a call center agent for more than 5 years already. Yup! That's 5 years baby! And this is just in one call center! Imagine that!

When some people are call center hopping, I'm contented where I am. I still remember that for 2 straight years, I'm still happy taking in calls. I may not be as happy as I was before, but I'm still taking in calls. Gone are the days I want to get promoted. Haha.. Promotion means more pay but more responsibility. I can't handle any more responsibility as it is.

It's not that I don't want more responsibility, but times have changed. CVG is not the same as before. They've been more stricter. Understandable as times have changed too. If we were the no.1 center before, wheels have turned, and we're not right now.

Anyway, for the past couple of months, I've been looking for online jobs. Since well, I'm online most of the time and I soooo love the internet. I've been hunting down jobs that could make me stay home and earn a living.

I first discovered oDesk. It's a cool website. I got a buyer though he was not oDesk verified then when he hired me. Anyway, it was quite an easy job and I want to think that he likes my work so far. But then, my keyboard got busted and I wasn't able to do stuff from him for some weeks. I got a temporary solution to use an external keyboard to do some job for him.

And then I stumbled upon Staff in Seconds. It's not a freelance job like in oDesk. It's a company that would hire you for your services. They'll be the one providing you projects. For me, it's better than oDesk because they would be giving you ample training. Times are hard.. and honestly it's really hard to land a job more so even just an interview in oDesk.

Luckily, I'm part of the first batch of our campaign. I'm not part of the pioneer batch but first batch.. Labo!

Anyway, we had our first teambuilding (the first ever for the company) last Sunday, April 26,2009. I grabbed the opportunity since it's the time to get to know my colleagues because honestly, it's all virtual. Everything is on the internet. We don't see each other physically but we use Skype to communicate. No webcam just voice. We do conference calls and it's really refreshing whenever we do our jobs and making chicka on the side while doing it. hahaha...

I'm adjusting myself to this job and I really hope it turns out fine. We have a 30-day evaluation period and 90 days before we get regularized... which means higher pay.

I'm really thinking long and hard about this endeavor. I so want to be able to handle my time, stay at home but earning as well. I'm giving myself a maximum of 10 months to stay in my current job before I retire. (naks! retire!)

But before I do, I would need to be able to save up for these things: (hehe... luho ko!)

- a brand new Macbook (hey, I would need it for my job!)
- the kitchen shelf
- the topcase keyboard for my old macbook
- ram and hd for my old macbook
- new cabinet for kuya and me

if ever things go well with me & marts... I would also need to save up for:

- a ref
- new mattress

Mygahd! Ang dami pala!

But well, that's just me. haha...

My target date for the new macbook will be by December of 2009. naks.. kaya yan.. LOL..

Also, I also want to be able to invest in a condo. I'm eyeing one condo that can be availed through pag-ibig in the Mandaluyong area. Hopefully I can do site visiting soon.

Anyway, if I do retire... I would want to work homebased and also go back to online selling. I'll be getting stuff from the US care of my parents.

In other words...
Publish Post
my retirement would go to this business venture... hahaha.. I really need to be able to work overtime because in a year's time Celo would be going to school.

Lousiest Dsl Service

I've been using Globe Broadband for the past year. The connection is a-ok if it's working... BUT if it's not, it's really HELL!

Mind you, using my net nowadays is not just simply using it for the heck of it. I'm making money on the net now okay?!?

I was recently hired with Staff in Seconds as a Virtual Assistant.

I think it's a calling when I stumbled upon this job on the world wide web.

Anyways, this is my 2nd job on the net, the first one I haven't actually been working on it yet, since it's a freelance job. My point is I need the internet for my jobs!

I started working for SIS last April 21, 2009. I didn't go home right away because I met up with Marts after shift. Therefore, I worked using his laptop. heheh..

When I went home, my brother told me DSL is down.

WHAT?!?

Okay, cool it... I asked when it started and he said last he checked he used it 11am. Okay.

As you may know, I work for tech support in a dsl company in the US.. so suffice it to say, I know how to troubleshoot this kind of stuff. Our system: Mac OS 10.5, prolink modem & linksys router.

Since it doesn't connect and my modem is on bridged mode, I disabled the router and made a direct connection to my computer. Created a pppoe connection and it connected but heck! it doesn't browse. aaargh!

So I dialed 171... I really hate calling Globe's tech support coz they really don't know what they're doing. My opening spiel would be to say my name, the phone no., my location, who's account it is and how I'm related to the account holder. I tell the tech that I don't have internet right now and are there any outages. She said there's none reported okay. I continue with telling her what I've done and of course, upon knowing that I have a router, she asked to remove it. I've told her yes. Done. She asked if I see all lights on, I said yes and no and proceeded to saying my modem's bridged, just did pppoe on the pc and it got connected. Although I'm a mac user for so many years now and I support Mac for 5 yrs now... I still don't know where the hell is the command prompt in macs. haha.. so I asked. The agent who assumed what mac I have was saying to click on something which I can't find.. She put me on hold. When she came back, she said that she'll just send a tech dispatch. I really laughed. But stubborness in me said, "No, let's still try it out." I asked her if she has ran tests and she said she did and can't find any sync.. Hmmm, modem's got sync. What is she saying?!? Does she really know what she's saying? Okay fine, send a dispatch. When will the tech arrive. In 3 days. What?!? It's sop. Okay, fine.

Next day, we went to SM Centerpoint to do our grocery. I told my brother that we need to report it to the Globe business center as well to make sure that they're aware. From experience, their business center holds more power and does something if you report it to them. The lady in their front desk said that since this has been reported over the phone, she'll just email them for a follow up and give feedback to my brother through text. Maximum turnaround for this to be fixed is 5 days. Okay, fine!

So just think how hard it is for me to do an online job without internet at home. It's really a blessing that Marts has free Globe wireless broadband (unfortunately, it's still Globe.. but what the heck it's free!). So that's what happened for the next days. I think on the 23rd, my bro got a text from Joanne from the business center saying that something is scheduled to come over that day or next day. If ever nobody came, just provide feedback to her. I texted her... no reply. I asked my bro to remind her next day. No reply.

On Friday, the 24th, me and Celo went to his grandparents' home in Caloocan. I didn't bother with the internet anymore because all the while I was thinking it will be fixed. After shift, on Sunday... take note, this is the 26th already. The 5th day of my-no-internet-fr-hell. After shift, I stayed and chatted with Mae (whom I would really really miss coz she's gonna resign soon!) and Neo in GJ's; I arrived at about 10am at home and still NO INTERNET! WTF?!?

This means WAR! I called up Globe again. I planned on sleeping when I get home because I have a teambuilding to go to later in the day for SIS. But then again, I really have to get this up and running since my job would revolve around this internet thingie.

I called up and asked about the status of the ticket. The agent, although nice would be the receiver of my utter rage for their lousy service. He said that it was already checked by the techs and asked if my issue was fixed. Hello?!? Would I call if it is?!? He said that he has to transfer the call to support to get it fixed. Wait a minute... what do you mean that you'll be transferring me? I'm simply asking the feedback of the tech dispatch because that was what was promised to me right? He then said that the tech was able to check the facility on the 24th and fixed the problem. They closed the ticket on the 24th. What?!? They closed the report without going to my premise to check if my dsl is indeed working? No, this is unacceptable. (I really sound like my customers. haha...) I've waited long enough. 5 days is 5 days. I've waited patiently for their promise that a tech would be dispatched. I asked for a supervisor. As usual, they will say that the supervisor is engaged in a meeting. Okay. If that's how it is, I would wait even if it takes 3 hours.. (really, I did this with them already.. kita mo ang lousy talaga!) He put me on hold for a total of 15 minutes before I got hold of his supervisor which goes by the name of Flor Cancino I think. She assured me that a tech would go there that day or tomorrow. I said NO. The tech should come out that day before 3pm because I would really need the internet and I have no time waiting for them since I've waited patiently already for the past couple of days. She said she'll give feedback before lunch. She called me back after 5 minutes. Assuring me that a tech would arrive before 3pm. Okay. It's almost lunch now, I ate sisig and slept.

Guess what?!? I overslept. I was supposed to meet Val, my SIS teammate by 3pm and I'm still sleeping soundly by 3:30pm. Mygahd!

I got 15 missed calls, 5 texts and no technician. I called them up again and looked for the Flor. The agent said she was on break. Fine, I'll take a bath but after 15 minutes I will callback. And so I did... I was still looking for the supervisor when the tech arrived. And guess what? The tech who arrived seems to know nothing about the problem. He just arrived and told me that he was told to go there to say that there's still a problem. What?!? So why did you come if you can't fix it? AMPF tlaga! Aaargh!!!!

After 2 minutes, another tech came in... a younger guy holding a dsl box. Uy, mukhang promising.. may dalang modem. hahaha.. He then proceeded to check the connection. No connection obviously. Since he doesn't know how to use a mac. He went out and got his laptop and disconnected the old modem and used the new one. It worked! Thank God. I proceeded with checking the connection on Lappie and it worked too! But not the right speed. Okay I can live with that for now since I really hafta go.

The ending, I didn't let go of the tech support over the phone until I knew that I had a connection. haha.. They asked if there's any more problem. I reported that my landline is so hard of hearing.. hahah.. (mahina in other words..lol) They replaced it with no questions asked. My phone rang and another tech with them wants to talk to them. And so they were doing their so-called reports.. blah-blah.

Afterwhich, they called up another person who asked me a series of questions regarding the service and I really bombarded her with my lousy experience of their support.

So there you have it.. my lenghty post of their lousy internet service.

I Want

I've been lemming for this new macbook ever since my old one showed signs of old age.

I thought reapplying for the loan is easy.. but it ain't.. oh well.. that's okay.

At least I would have to save up on it and hopefully by Christmas I get to have this.

Jobs are pouring in right now.. it's just up to me to be hardworking and stay hardworking so that I'll have this baby in no time.

Torn

I'm an Eheads fan.

Pero hindi die-hard. haha..

I watched their last concert last August at the Fort. I half enjoyed it.. coz bitin eh! Ely had to go to the hospital because of his heart problem.. 1st set lang natapos.

Anyway, there'll be another concert this March 7.. sa MOA naman.

Truth is, I'm T-O-R-N!

I want to watch the final set again BUT..

I got work at 10pm..

hay.. I was contemplating of just being late for work. But of course, that wouldn't do well with TL.

Second, I've got a workshop to attend the next day after work. So kamusta naman ang katawan ko diba?!?

This extensive polymer clay workshop is something I wanted to learn for the longest time.

I already paid the reservation fee to secure my slot.

Third, money's tight. Although I know I could go around it and have money to buy a ticket... with Ida tempting me with a discounted 5k ticket.. heheh...

Oh well, I guess I know what I have to do right?!?

Hay...

Updates about Me

It's quite some time now since I've last blogged about anything...

1. I got a job for oDesk. I'm still not technically hired 'coz my buyer is still not oDesk verified, but he already has paid me for 17 hours of work last Friday. It's on my paypal account already. Yeah! I think he's a good buyer. Knowledgeable, organized and detailed. I'm quite new to this online job but it's encouraging to know he appreciates the efforts I've done so far.

2. My head is spinning with one of his tasks. Flight & hotel hunting is one of my new tasks. I've never done a research on travelling... specifically looking for the cheapest flights and doing reservations. My only knowledge about this is Cebu Pacific's seat sale. haha.. Talk about pathetic!

3. I'm bald down there. Haha.. Officially. I headed to Lay Bare in San Juan last Thursday and it was one of the days I questioned my choices in life. Haha..

4. Im getting fatter and fatter everyday. Ugh! As if it weren't enough, not only has Marts noticed it yesterday.. but prior to that, when I asked Celo if Mama is sexy.. all he said was "Taba! Taba! Taba!"

5. I'm planning a trip on my birthday with Marts. I'm so excite about it already. I'm actually planning on making it a family trip with Celo too but my officemate Mae said that Celo would just get tired since we would just commute and all. Good point. And so, I'm planning to go somewhere else with Celo when we get back.

6. I've been thinking a lot lately that I want to go to Bora before this year ends. I'm planning of going there by September or October. Most probably after Celo's birthday. Like a post celebration or something.

7. Because of this desire to go to Boracay, I also looked for other alternative places to go to. Saw lots! How I wish I have the time and money... hehehe...

8. I've been contemplating if I would resign from my job. Reason to resign? Well, I really don't know. HAHAHA... Sometimes I want to be promoted. Sometimes I don't. Weird. I have reached 5 years already in my job.. so may makukuha na daw ako retirement. Sabi ni tl wala daw ako increase.. pero.. based dun sa provisions nila ng increase dapat meron ako.. ang labo nga eh... 3 months naman ako pumasa last year.. ang nakalagay sa final list nila 2 buwan lang.. eh para que nakakuha ako ng qpb ng 2 buwan for the 4th quarter.. LABO!

9. Gusto ko manood ng Eraserheads concert pero ewan ko. May pasok ako nung gabi na yun. Kainis lang. Bahala na si Batman!

10. May bagong workshop si Angeli! Nagpareserve na ako.. Reservation payment na lang kulang. Iniisip ko pa kung iGcash ko o ipaypal ko na lang.. I'm torn.... This workshop is for making polymer clay stuff.

The Love of my Life

Because it's the season of love...

Just wanna share this pic.

It was taken last February 7, 2009 @ Pagsanjan, Laguna at one of the most unromantic places one can imagine.. the cemetery!

I'm just happy with this pic because he's the one who iniatiated that we have our pic taken.

Anyway, we'll be hitting 5 years next month. (I'm counting, he isn't. Oh well, anyway...)

He's still the love of my life. The father of my kid. Whatever good or bad that happened between us he'll always be my mahal..

Belated happy valentine's day Martsko...

oDesk

The On Demand Global Workforce - oDesk

I just read about oDesk a week ago from one of my former colleague's blog in multiply. It's a work-at-home job which looks promising.

I've already created my profile, took some online tests, applied to some jobs but I haven't got any interviews yet. (I started writing this draft last 2/5/09.)

Anyway, I was favorited by 1 buyer. I got an email regarding an interview today... it's actually more of a test post request to gauge my capability of being a blogger.

It's fairly easy actually. I've got a good morning sleep. I slept past 9am and I woke up after 4pm. My mind's in a whirl and I got excited about it.

I'm done writing the test post after an hour. I knew nothing about registry cleaners which is the topic of the what I need to write about. All I know is that registry is something in your computer that needs to be A-ok because the efficiency of your computer relies on it. I often say to my dsl customers that there might be something wrong with the registry of their PC if they get those dll errors. Mind you, I use a Mac that's why I'm not bothered with this registry or this registry cleaner because I don't need one.

Anyway, hopefully I get hired. My mind will work again like I'm in college or something.. heheh...

Adobong Baboy

I'm not a cook...

therefore I don't really cook nor does cooking likes me.

This is one of my waterloos.. cooking.

It maybe one of the reasons why Marts is complaining... I don't cook for him... and the fact that we love eating.

Since we broke up last time, I've realized I need to learn how to cook simple dishes... not just for me, not just for him but for little Celo.

I actually have learned quite a lot for such a novice like me. I always kid around that I could throw a children's party now because I can cook spaghetti, chicken and lumpia now. My kid loves it just as much because he eats them with gusto. Mind you he's a picky eater.

He doesn't eat rice with ulam. He just eats plain rice. He loves fruits like mangoes, apple and banana. I was laughing so hard the last time he ate a banana because he knows how to open it already. Mygahd, my kid is a grown boy already!

Anyway, I know cooking Adobo is easy. Easy for you to say... haha.. because for the longest time I've been trying to cook adobo for Marts and all I get are criticisms. He says it's "kulang sa iga," tastes like pork steak... tsk.. tsk..

Yesterday, we had nothing to eat for lunch in his apartment. I was bugging him what he likes to eat for lunch. I asked if he wants to eat adobo. He said that he cooks better adobo than I do. HA!

He was sleeping when I went to the nearby palengke. I was thinking of what to cook. Porkchop or adobo? I went for the adobo. I actually searched for the recipe online and just tweaked the recipe to what I bought. It says there that I need 1 1/2kilo of pork.. I just bought a half kilo. 1/3cup of vinegar and 3 tbsp of soy sauce. I remember an old friend telling me 1:2 ratio of soy sauce and vinegar. Anyway, when I was cooking.. I simply crushed the garlic using the knife and combined all the ingredients of pork, soy sauce, vinegar and pepper plus the bay leaf. I had it boiling till the "sauce" dried up and I added little water. When I think it was ready, I got another frying pan and put some oil and fried the pork then added the little sauce that's left from the boil. I even used the leftover rice and added the remaining sauce to make adobo rice. I still cooked plain rice because I was thinking that the rice would not be enough.

After cooking, I hurried upstairs and woke him up. I was so excited! I felt that this was my best ever adobo and he would like it. Indeed, he did! I was so happy! Maybe third time's a charm! hahaha... The half kilo of pork was "simot!" From the 2 cups of plain rice I cooked, there was very little that was left of it.

With this kind of reaction from him, it really makes me eager to learn how to cook. Whoopee!

Which reminds me again, I have to complete my requirements for the San Juan Manpower thingie. There are free classes held in our city hall for its residents to help them with their livelihood. I actually want to learn how to cook not really for making it as a business but for making my family eat well..hahhaa...

Now, before I end this blog I would just like to thank this blog... for the wonderful adobo recipe.. if it weren't for your recipe, I wouldn't have cooked it any better.. hahaha...
